Poll: Voters Warming to Newsom’s Redistricting Fight With Trump
Governor Gavin Newsom’s high-stakes gamble on the so-called “Revenge Map” plan may not just reshape California congressional districts; it could reshape voter turnout.
A new Berkeley IGS/LA Times poll found 46% of Californians say the redistricting maneuver is a good idea, 36% call it a bad idea, and 18% remain undecided.
On Thursday, the Democratic-controlled Legislature approved the plan, setting up a special election on November 4. Voters will decide whether to sidestep the state’s independent redistricting commission and adopt new maps that heavily favor Democrats in the 2026, 2028, and 2030 elections, potentially flipping five GOP-held seats.
I just signed the Election Rigging Response Act to put Proposition 50 up for a vote on November 4th.
The people of California will have the power to push back against Texas and any other state that obeys @realDonaldTrump's demand to rig the next election.

Newsom signed the bills within hours, framing the plan as a necessary counterweight to Texas Republicans, who recently gerrymandered five new GOP districts. California Republicans blasted the move as partisan gamesmanship.

Newsom vs. Trump
But the governor isn’t just fighting in Sacramento, he’s waging a national social media war against Donald Trump and the GOP, casting himself as a defender of democracy. And he’s getting the attention of the White House.

That combative posture appears to be resonating: According to that same polling, 51% of Californians now approve of Newsom’s job performance, compared to 43% who disapprove. That’s a big reversal from April’s polling numbers. And when asked about his approach to Trump, Californians side with Newsom nearly 2-to-1 (59% to 29%).
Now, the question remains: with his approval numbers climbing, will Newsom himself help drive Democrats to the polls this November?

What We Know
Agents are looking into whether Bolton spilled classified secrets in his 2020 tell-all, The Room Where It Happened.
Agents hauled bags inside but didn’t appear to leave with anything.
For now, Bolton hasn’t been charged.
Reminder: the Trump-era DOJ already tried (and failed) to nail him on this back in 2021.
Bolton served in Trump’s first term but since has emerged as a staunch critic of the president.

Learn from this investor’s $100m mistake
In 2010, a Grammy-winning artist passed on investing $200K in an emerging real estate disruptor. That stake could be worth $100+ million today.
One year later, another real estate disruptor, Zillow, went public. This time, everyday investors had regrets, missing pre-IPO gains.
Now, a new real estate innovator, Pacaso – founded by a former Zillow exec – is disrupting a $1.3T market. And unlike the others, you can invest in Pacaso as a private company.
Pacaso’s co-ownership model has generated $1B+ in luxury home sales and service fees, earned $110M+ in gross profits to date, and received backing from the same VCs behind Uber, Venmo, and eBay. They even reserved the Nasdaq ticker PCSO.

Not the Flex He Thought It Was
A Carlsbad tween who stormed the field at Petco Park, only to be tackled by security, is now doubling down online.

Where Are Frankie’s Parents?
Posting to social media, Frankie Schwartz tried to turn the trespass into an inspirational moment, thanking Padres star Fernando Tatís Jr. for “winking” at him, urging followers to “chase your dreams, take stupid bets,” and bragging the stunt was “worth it” and “fun.”
Young Frankie is now finding out the stunt isn’t the flex he thought it was; many are calling for the MLB to ban the boy for life.
